Bring those unfinished projects or learn how to knit from Rene Stroud. The group will meet in the library reading area. This group is a great way to learn new techniques for beginners.

This 4 week program for 3rd and 4th grade students will explore their ancestors by reading about genealogy, immigrants and refugees and peacemakers from around the world. Help set up a service project for Ryan's Well, Pennies for Peace, or Heifer International. Free crafts and snacks provided.

The Sac City Explorer's Club will meet at the bowling center on Saturday, March 5th at 9:00 a.m. to learn about the sport of bowling and get a tour. Free bowling and snacks provided.

This computer class will help users identify the basic elements of email and learn to read, send, and forward email as well as create folders to help organize the inbox. There is no fee for this class and handouts will be provided. Register by calling 662-7276. Space is limited to 6 participants.

In this beginner class, participants will learn the basics of Word including how to make corrections, basic formatting, and explore the menus. This is a free class and handouts will be provided. Register early as space is limited to 6 participants.
Event Adult Computer Class - Microsoft Excel (Computer Room, from Mar 22, 2011 02:00 PM to Mar 22, 2011 03:30 PM)
In this beginner Excel class, participants will learn the basics to create simple charts and formulas. This is a free class and handouts will be provided. Register early at 662-7276 as space is limited to 6 participants.
Event Family Storyteller Workshop (Sac City Public Library, from Mar 29, 2011 06:30 PM to Mar 29, 2011 08:00 PM)
The Family Storyteller workshop is provided by the Iowa State University Extension and will introduce families to the joy of reading, plus, show parents techniques on how to read with their children and share time together. Childcare will be available free of charge during the class and children ages 3-7 will participate during part of the class. There will be a meal before class starts at 6:30 p.m. To register, please call ISUE at (712)662-7131.

Teen Tech Week is March 6-12, 2011 and is celebrated in libraries across the country as a time to connect teens with technology in their public libraries. For more information about technology in the Sac City Library for teens, ask a librarian, or visit the Young Adult Library Services Association at www.yalsa.org.
