The Sac City Public Library was founded for the purpose of providing the residents of the community and the surrounding area with access to books and other resources and services for education, information, and leisure. The library strives to aid and encourage all patrons in their pursuit of knowledge, understanding and in finding rewarding experiences through these resources. The function of the library is to provide materials and services to meet responsibly the recreational and educational needs of individuals of all ages. The library will do this through the selection of books, records, tapes, films, periodicals, computers and other materials for the development and enrichment of all individuals. The library will provide advice and guidance in the use of these materials and equipment. The library will offer aid in researching. The library will cooperate with groups and agencies in the community to stimulate educational and cultural activities. The library will work to provide the citizens of our service area with equal access to all printed and electronic information resources.

This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
