Join Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library is a nonprofit advocacy organization which supports the Library. Our volunteer members advocate, educate, and raise funds on behalf of the Library, its patrons, and the community.

The Friends raise funds to be used by the Library for activities not ordinarily covered under the Library's operating budget since ongoing Library operations are paid for by city and county dollars. The Friends currently have about 60 members.

  • Fund raising activities include the Annual Tea which will be held June 8th 2015.  Helen Brown captivates all with book talks.  A delicious desert and coffee or tea is served.
  • The used book sale is an in-house sale of withdrawn and donated books.
  • Semi-Annual Quilt/Craft auction.
  • Book fairs.
  • Membership is $5.00 and may be paid at any time.
This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
